Upcoming Annual Meeting

Dear Church Family,

When we gather on November 1 at the campus of Waterville Baptist Church, it will be our 66th annual meeting as an association. When this cooperative body of churches began, it was only five years after World War II. Times have certainly changed, but the annual meeting still has an important place in the life of our network of Baptist churches. (Please see my new article in the Beacon for why we have an annual meeting.)

At this year's annual meeting, we will have three special guests: Our DC Church Partners, Zack Randles and Zack Bekele and Dr. Steve Holt from the Tennessee Baptist Convention.

You do not want to miss what the Holy Spirit has to say during this special Sunday gathering on November 1. The Business session will start at 4:30. Special highlights for the business session will include:

  • 2016 Association Budget

  • New partnerships presented with several churches: Rolling Brook Missionary Baptist Church, Eastanallee Baptist Church, Gamble Road Baptist Church and Iglesia Cristiana de Restauraci√≥n

  • Recommendation concerning our association name change

The Evening Worship / Homecoming Celebration will start at 6:30PM. Let us celebrate what God is doing through your church in our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the Uttermost parts of the Earth. Please make plans to be with us.

Also, please be in prayer for our Washington, DC Mission team. Despite the intense weather and rain, they have decided to push on and spread the Gospel in our nation's capital. They have all arrived safely in DC and we look forward to a good report when they return.

Our holiday seasonal ministries are now in full operation. We are asking those who are willing to donate stamped Christmas cards and socks for our jail ministry to drop off their donations at the association office. We always appreciate your gifts. Also, Project Helping Hands is in need of sponsors for this holiday season. Please contact the association if you are interested in helping a family or individual with food for Thanksgiving and Christmas and a gift or two for small children.

Please remember me and several other ministries in prayer as we travel to Nepal October 18-31. We will be participating in a church dedication, speaking at a youth conference and working with church planters.
