Mobilizing Missionaries

Dear Church Family,

May is always an exciting time in the life of the Bradley Baptist Association. We see the end of our yearly VITA tax ministry and the beginning of our very busy summer starting with Ocoee Outreach. This year is no different as we mobilize missionaries for service.

Last month, a special conference was held at the association office from April 7-9 concerning “Seeking God's Presence.” Pastor Mark Partin shared on such topics as how to seek God's presence for true revival and how to deal with times of discouragement in ministry. One of our participants commented, "This conference was such a blessing! I felt refreshed and encouraged in my ministry. God truly blessed these sessions." If you were unable to attend, the three session conference is posted on our associational website at Just click on Pastor Partin's photo on the homepage.

As our VITA tax ministry winds down this year, we have seen an amazing 54% increase in tax return preparation since last year! Thank you to everyone who helped make this ministry a great success. Over 150 tax returns were prepared this year by our faithful volunteers. Each and every one of these individuals were presented the Gospel! Truly God is giving us more and more opportunities to witness about the life saving power of Jesus Christ.

Vacation Bible School is now just around the corner for many of you. Please let the association know the dates of your VBS and if you need any help. Our Ocoee Outreach teams would be more than willing to be a resource to you. If you are able to attend, there will be a VBS clinic Tuesday night April 29th from 6-9 at Morris Hill Baptist Church in Chattanooga. Our children are the future of the church.

Regretfully, our Kenya mission trip this summer has been canceled. This has been a pain-staking decision. I held out in faith that the turmoil in that part of the country would have settled down and now it seems that new situations are rising. Over the past week we have become aware of new security issues in Kenya that have caused us concern. With the safety of our team being our foremost concern, I felt it was necessary for us to cancel the trip to Kenya. We are currently are seeking an alternate mission location, perhaps in Romania. Please be praying for God to open the right doors for our dedicated team.

Once again thank you for your partnership. These ministries would not be possible without faithful churches and their members. Thank you for being a part in helping reach others for God's Kingdom.

In His Grace,

Phil Taylor
