DC Partnership

Dear Church Family,

Since October, the Bradley Baptist Association has explored partnering with SEND DC Church Planters, Zack Bekele (Gilgal Ethiopian Church) and Zack Randles (Waterfront Church). We have already seen a tremendous response from those who have served on our DC vision and mission trips. At our Spring Missions Gathering held at First Baptist Cleveland this April, God confirmed His blessing on our SEND DC partnership through a vote of our partnering churches. (You can view segments of this service online at www.bradleybaptist.org.)

Our DC partnership will be based on the Three “P”s of Prayer, People and Provisional support. More information about the partnership will be featured in our next Beacon. In particular, Zack Bekele is in the process of raising his support and will need to know soon how the BBA will be able to support him. We are setting a goal of $50,000 to support both Pastor Zack Bekele and Pastor Zack Randles in 2015. We already have $12,000 pledged and are seeking an additional $1,000 per partnering church to be given by the end of 2015. The old antidote, “Together we truly are better” could not be any more applicable than now. I believe that God will use us to have a significant impact on reaching Washington, DC with the Gospel. If you have any questions concerning the partnership, please let me know.

Additionally, we will be returning to Washington, DC during fall break, October 3-8, for another mission trip. We will be once again be engaged in evangelism, acts of kindness, community service projects and more. The tentative cost is $150 per person. Lodging will be at the Woodlawn/Pillar Church and Volunteer Center. Please call the association to reserve spots or if you have any questions. Spaces are limited.

Many of you have asked about how you can help after the earthquake devastation and loss of life in Nepal. First Baptist Cleveland and the Bradley Baptist Association have developed a strategy to financially assist our partners and those affected by the Nepal earthquake and ask you to pray about how you might help in this effort. Donations may be mailed or dropped off at the association.

Finally, please be in prayer for our other associational ministries. Ocoee Outreach is off to a wonderful start and our Romania Mission team participants are busy preparing for their trip this July. The CommonBond Christian Women’s Job Corps will be starting a new semester August 11. Anyone interested in attending should contact Sue Bennett at 423-665-9681 or email commonbondwjc@gmail.com. The deadline to register is July 14th.

As always thank you for your partnership. These ministries would not be possible without faithful churches and their members. Thank you for being a part in helping reach others for God's Kingdom.
