Another Year

Dear Church Family,

Another year is here and we must be as diligent as ever to bring the hope of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world. We are continuing Christ's command to go into all the world to reach those who have never heard the Gospel and covet your prayers more than ever.

Our Bold Going Jail ministry thanks you for your wonderful support this past holiday season. Many donations of stamped Christmas cards, socks and hard-wrapped candies were received. Thank you for remembering these “hearts behind bars.”

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) ministry will be taking appointments January 22nd through April 12th, 2016 to help file your 2015 tax return. Starting on January 22nd, available appointment times are Monday, Tuesday and Friday nights from 4:30PM to 8PM and Saturday mornings from 10AM to 2PM. There is no charge for this service and it is available to individuals or couples making $56,000 or less. Please call 423-476-5493 for an appointment. Spanish speaking services are also available on Saturdays. During the time the client is waiting, we will share with them about our other ministries available for them, pray for their needs and make a Gospel presentation. Please be praying for this ministry.

We are now taking registrations for our mission trip to Cernavodă, Romania. This trip will be June 23-July 2 and is geared for ages 22 and over. This will be our third year in a row going to Romania to help Pastor Pop reach the Roma people (also called gypsies). Our ministry has three focuses: to engage the men on the streets, encourage and start a women's ministry within the church, and have children's programs in surrounding villages. Please pray about joining our mission team. Please visit for more info or email Phil Taylor at or the project coordinator, Whitney Stevison at

For those going on our July 2-9 mission trip to Xalapa Veracruz Mexico, please register online as soon as possible at The purpose of this mission trip will be to reach the lost and gather them together for discipleship and evangelism.

There will be an informational meeting about our upcoming mission trip to Washington, D.C. on January 24th at 4PM at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church. This trip will be during spring break for city and county schools, March 19-24. This is a great opportunity to be on mission in our nation's capital and share the Gospel with people from all over the world. Visit for more information and to register.

Our “Love Your City” ministry will once again be in operation this year during the Saturdays of March and September 2016. The idea behind this ministry is to saturate our community with God’s love. Participating associational churches will choose a Saturday in March and/or September to love their community through acts of kindness and servant evangelism. Contact Randy Bonner at the association to get involved.

Finally, please be praying for myself and a team of ministers who are going to Nigeria to conduct revivals and pastoral training. We will be in Nigeria February 26th through March 8th.

In His Grace,

Phil Taylor
