Dear Church Family,
Ocoee Outreach had another great summer in 2015. Over 1,300 volunteers from fifteen states partnered with us this year. As a result, 72 homes were repaired and eighty professions of faith were reported! A special "Thank You" goes to our churches who partnered with Ocoee Outreach this summer in providing evening meals and lodging for volunteer teams, mobilizing volunteers to serve as equipment runners, lunch runners, partnering together for Block Parties and other ministry initiatives, donating supplies, financial gifts and more. It is partners like you that make this ministry possible.
This has also been a great summer for Vacation Bible School at our partnering churches. Several of our churches have raised money for our Washington DC Partnership during their VBS. These churches included Beacon, Mount Carmel, Council, Oak Grove, Philippi, Thompson Springs and Valley View. We are seeking an additional $1,000 per church toward our goal of $30,000 for our DC Partnership. $12,000 is already pledged. Regarding our VBS statistics, we have had nearly 5,000 enrolled in VBS and 144 salvations reported thus far. Praise God! If your church had a VBS this year, please contact the association so we can celebrate with you.
Our Romania mission team returned on July 18th. Our goal was to strengthen the local church in Cernavoda, Romania by partnering with Pastor Pop and IMB missionaries Lisa and Kevin Kail. Our ministry had three focuses: to engage the men on the streets, encourage and start a women's ministry and have multiple children's programs in surrounding villages. Pastor Pop and the church were strengthened and greatly encouraged by our team. Through extra gifts to the association we were able to repair the church roof, bathroom and paint. The total cost was $6,500 for the repairs.
If are interested in participating in our Fall Break DC Mission Trip October 3-8, please keep in mind the deadline to sign up is at the first training at 4PM on August 16 at Parkway Baptist. The deposit is $25. Additional training dates are September 13 at Candies Creek and September 27 at North Cleveland.
Regarding this year's Annual Meeting/Homecoming, it will be held on Sunday November 1st at Waterville Baptist Church. Please remember that messengers are elected according to the following formula: Each church of fifty members or less shall be entitled to three (3) messengers and one (1) additional messenger for each fifty members above the first fifty, provided no church shall be entitled to have more than ten (10) messengers.
The evening session of our annual meeting will be a special worship/homecoming celebration. Let us celebrate what God is doing through your church in our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the Uttermost parts of the Earth. Our SEND DC Church Partners, Zack Bekele (Gilgal Ethiopian Church) and Zack Randles (Waterfront Church) will be joining us for the celebration!
