Always Learning

Dear Church Family,

The New Year is moving along at a fast pace at CrossNet Baptist Network with several ministries already in full gear. Our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) ministry began January 31st, and is processing approximately 32 returns a week and 32 a week opportunities to spread the gospel message. Please pray for the VITA volunteers as this program aims to help individuals who need the advantage of free tax return preparation and a word of hope.

Learning Community for pastors begins an evening session option starting February 21st and every third Thursday evening thereafter. Thursday morning sessions will continue as usual at 9:30 a.m. Pastors, please consider joining the Learning Community sessions held at the CrossNet office. This is a peer-learning environment that helps you look beyond current circumstances and discover that God is doing. The goal of these sessions is to help bring focus and revitalization to our churches and to align with His purposes. You are invited February 21st at 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon to hear guest speaker Dr. Rob Peters, founder and President of ReFocus. ReFocus is a ministry for pastors who are seeking to revitalize their church ministry, and are looking for a fresh vision. This is a free event and lunch is included. RSVP to or call (423) 476-5493.

CrossNet Disaster Relief teams are returning to Puerto Rico next month for the rebuilding of “The Church Without Walls” main worship sanctuary. The sanctuary, located in Guayama, remains unusable since the devastation of Hurricane Maria in 2017. We are striving to have church members back in their worship center by Resurrection Sunday, April 21st. Starting March 2nd, there will be weekly deployments of teams packed with skilled and unskilled volunteers from 16 churches and Bradley Baptist Collegiate Ministries. Eight-one volunteers have signed up so far, and we still have openings on two of the trips: March 16-22 and March 23-29. If you would like to join this Kingdom work, please email Randy Bonner at or call CrossNet at (423) 476-5493 for details.

February is a good month to remember Golden Offering for Tennessee Missions. Every dollar stays in our state to help spread the gospel and assistance to many through Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief, Baptist Collegiate Ministries, and Compassion Ministries. Approximately 6.8 million people live in Tennessee and close to 20% of the population claims no affiliation with Christianity. This represents great opportunity for all of us at home.

In closing, be mindful that through CrossNet Baptist Network, your support and involvement reaches local, state, and international needs having a key role in reaching the world for Christ. I am thankful for your financial support and prayer support.
