Dear Church Family,
Our 66th Annual Homecoming was a great celebration of what God is doing through our churches and association. Thank you to Waterville Baptist for being a wonderful host and providing refreshments after the business session. Waterville's choir along with Brandon and Holly Edwards provided a wonderful atmosphere of worship and praise for our evening session.
A special highlight this year were our new associational members. We voted on membership for the following churches:
Gamble Road Baptist Church / Pastor Josh Cornelius
Eastanalle Baptist Church / Pastor Tony Crisp
Rolling Brook Missionary Baptist Church / Pastor Ray Higgins
Iglesia Cristiana de Restauracion / Pastor Antonio Revilla
Gamble Road was under watchcare previously and is now a full member of our association. Iglesia Cristiana de Restauracion is our first Spanish speaking church. Rolling Brook Missionary Baptist church is a former partner that we are welcoming back into the fold. Estanalle is located in McMinn county and wanted to be a part of what God is doing here via your association!
We were blessed to have both of our DC Church partners with us for the evening. Both Zack Randles (Waterfront Church) and Zack Bekele (Gilgal Church) testified about what a blessing our partnership has been and what it meant to them. Zack Randles further challenged us with a wonderful message from Psalms 41.
Steve Holt, Church Services Director from the Tennessee Baptist Convention was a special guest and gave a great report. We were humbled to be referred to as a pacesetter association. Truly, God is preparing us for great things!
In the coming year, please be praying how God can use you to further His work. We have several mission trips next year: Romania (June 23-July 2); Xalapa, Veracruz Mexico (July 2-July 9); and to Washington, DC during Spring Break (March 19-24). In additional to the mission trips, we have many other ministry opportunities such as Ocoee Outreach, VITA Tax Ministry, Christian Women's Job Corps, Project Helping Hands, Bold Going Jail Ministry and more. Let's continue our bold commitment to the Great Commission.
Please remember that our Bold Going Jail Ministry is collecting stamped Christmas cards, hard-wrapped candies and socks. If you have any donations, please drop them off at the association office.
Finally, I want to personally invite you to attend “The Summit,” November 9-11 at First Baptist in Millington, TN. For more information, please visit tbcsummit.org.
